Frequently Asked Questions

My daughter is not yet in 6th grade. Would she still benefit?
This is our most frequently asked question and really it is up to you, the mom. We will be addressing issues that our junior high and high school girls face. For some girls, they would fit right in and the subject matter would be understood and prepare them for what is ahead, for others, the subject matter may be ahead of where they are. It depends on the maturity of the daughter.

My daughter is a freshman in college. Would she benefit?
Yes! Our college daughters could benefit greatly from the encouragement to stand strong and also to open doors of communication between mothers and daughters as they navigate a new season in life.

Can I come without my daughter or without my mother?
Absolutely! There is so much that will be discussed on how to have healthy relationships and to give us a clearer understanding of how our choices direct where we end up. Mother or daughter would greatly benefit.

My daughter is too young to attend. Would I still benefit?
Totally! Many moms often wish they had beneficial tools going into these years versus trying to learn them as they go. What a great opportunity to learn and understand how training your daughters up in the way they should go prevents many pitfalls from occurring.

Do you offer scholarships?
In this tough economic time, there may be mothers and daughters who would benefit greatly from this conference but cannot afford to come. We are sensitive to that and do have limited scholarships available. Please email your request to info@girlsembracingtruth.org.

How can I contribute to the scholarship fund so that mothers/daughters who are in financial need can benefit?
First of all thank you! We can reach out to so many more mothers/daughters with your help! Please send your donation to Get Real! P.O Box 633 McHenry, Ill 60051 and be sure to mark your payment "Scholarship Fund."

My children are home schooled. Would this conference be appropriate for them?
That again is an individual choice based on your reasons for home schooling. We will be addressing the issues our youth face in the world today. These are the issues that are out there regardless of where they go to school, public or private. Our desire is to give our girls the truth regarding these issues so they are able to discern them and live out the abundant life they were created for.

What is abundant life?
Abundant life comes when we acknowledge that we have a Creator who loves us and created us for a specific purpose ~ to glorify Himself. God knows the plans He has for us. These plans that He holds for us are good; they are to prosper us and give us hope and a future. The only way for this life we were created for to be revealed is through our Savior Jesus Christ, who was crucified so we could live. When we realize and confess to God that we are fallen people incapable of living sinless lives and believe that His Son Jesus is the way, truth and life. He guides and directs us to the full life we were created for. Too many of us are living lives less than we were created to live. The abundant life can only be found through a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Can I order a vegetarian lunch?
Yes! Vegetarian meals are available upon request.
